I have a 93 Civic LX and it seems to have this mystery leak on top of the tranny. Its kind of under the distributor but I already checked that and changed the gasket. It puddles there and runs down the back side of the tranny and down to the axle. Any thoughts? What else is in that area? Its a really slow leak as it never drips on the ground. It just runs down and burns off. Thanks!

 

Most likely the distributor O-ring or the valve cover gasket.

Is there oil inside the distributor?

 

I changed the o-ring on the distributor when I first got the car not long ago. I will check to see if its the valve cover gasket tomorrow. Any other thoughts?

 

Did you install a new OEM O-ring and coat it with oil?

 

give it a wash and get that area clean
then go for a short drive to find the fresh leak

 

I tried cleaning it. Its so slow I just cant see where its coming from. I did use an OEM o-ring. I will take it off and see if oil is inside.

 

Hopefully not leaking out from under your head...though idk how that's possible without having other problems too
