Default 99 Y7 motor with a MT Y8 intake manifold question.

I have a 99 DX 5spd civic hatch. P2E ecu. My plans are to do a Y8 head swap on the engine. I either will get a 99-00 Ex engine harness or wire in the vtec etc myself.

I have a 99 Y8 5spd intake manifold with TB and IACV coming in the mail as i type this. CAN I RUN THIS ON THE Y7 MOTOR WITH THE P2E ECU FOR NOW? OR must i wait to get another ecu or the head swapped in 1st?

Is there a solution to wire up the 2 wire iacv to be ran with the p2e ecu?

The answer to your question is "Yes". Even though it's wrong.

There were pages of other search results too.

If the head matches the ECU then what's the problem? None then.
Here's search results for your IACV question.

problem is if i wire the harness to the 2 wire iacv will it work fine on the p2e ecu since its setup for the 3 wire iacv?

edit: think i found answer. i just need to move 1 pin on the ecu from b6 to b23 and then just unpin and disregard b15

CORRECT??????

No it won't run fine. The P2E looks for a 3 wire and the P2P (5 speed ECU) looks for a two wire.

I don't think the word "fine" was mentioned. I don't know why people think ECUs are one size fits all.

Well, whatever you do, DO NOT get a whole new engine harness; not worth the cost or the headache (or you'll end up like me and have a plug or two missing and then arguing with the seller over the phone about the harness not being complete, etc etc)

Just add the wires and snag a P2P ECU and you should be golden
