I have a viper 5901 and it has been acting weird. When I arm the system it does not make the normal chirp sound, rather it sounds the alarm for like 2 sec. (very faint too).

Also when I turn the headlights on the alarm goes off (very faint as well).

Any ideas as to what can be causing this malfunction. I am thinking it might be a ground somewhere with the alarm system....

 

I'd suggest posting what type of vehicle, what features are installed/enabled, how long its been installed, has it ever worked, have you changed anything recently, etc.

 

i just talked to my friend (an installer for best buy) and he said there are only two grounds that go to that one for the siren and on for the whole unit he said it has to be a bad ground.
