Default Z6 FJ Rods - What Bearings?

Long story short, I cracked a Vitara piston in my z6 so I bought 4 more, and new ACL bearings.

I received bearings 4B1956H-STD

I place them in the rod and cap and now they look like this:

WTF am I missing here.....Do FJ rods require a special bearing?

I tried E-mailing and calling them. Apparently they are MIA.

Please help!

pull out a micrometer or plasti gauge and get the bearings for your measurements

Did you get ACL race or duraglides? The ACL race will give you looser clearances...I wouldn't recommend them for a DD motor.

Get a soft-type bearing such as King, Clevite, OEM because they will imbed particles in your oil instead of scoring the crank in case of contamination. The STD Clevites measured out to be .002" with my micropolished crank, the OEM service limit.

P.s. update your build thread pl0x

When you install the Vitaras make sure the bearing tang is on the exhaust side and the arrows on the pistons face the flywheel.

Hard to tell from your pictures (on my phone), but is the bearing seated correctly in the rod? Mine lined up perfect when I did them...make sure you're not mix & matching rods and end caps

Thanks for the replies fellas.

Here is what we pulled out of the rods:

These appear to be King bearings. I haven't had a chance to measure them to my new bearings, but I know these Kings are wider for sure, and fit flush in the rod.

SDE - I ordered ACL Race bearings. I might just replace these Kings with the same set, just so I know they work and are the right size.

Rods and caps are correct. FJ rods have an indicator on the side to match them.

Also, nothing really to update on my build thread! Been lazy, and just had a baby, so my life is 180degrees right now. I just want to get this thing back on the road and enjoy it

Any more pointers are more than welcome!

OK, I just got word back from King, now I'm REALLY confused.

It seems you had a CR 439AM, but that doesn’t match your engine code.

I have included 2 links to our catalog page so you can check the dimensions and decide which bearings you need.

please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

So judging by part numbers...I had B-series bearings in there?!!?!? What comes with the FJ kit?

I remember my Clevite D16 bearings left a small gap on each side, but they lined up between the halves.

Were your old bearings trashed and that's why you bought a new set?

SDE - You have FJ rods??

Yes, these bearings were pitted with only 200mi on the build.

Also had to have the turbo rebuilt....Guy from Precision told me there was a "lot of debris" in the oil.

This build is gonna be the death of me! lol
