HONDA GURU's I challenge you..Did a auto to manual swap. Idle issues.
Did a b series swap into 00 ex auto and this was great but having idle issues and I did the correct wiring and check it a dozen times. The IAC's I have are good I tried 3 of them to make sure with my 97 ITR. Just idles high at 3k all the time. NO vacumm leaks the IAC is sucking mad air into the TB for some reason. I switched the wires around and same result. ANYONE? I will check grounds again, but I am stuck here. I had to do the three wire to two wire IAC switch. I have checked the wiring a bunch of times. It will idle okay with a 00 SI ecu but with several codes or idles at 3k with a chipped p28 ecu. It's a CTR bottom end. Maybe just needs tuneds like now. Don't know. Help me out if you can.
No cel codes either with any of the ecu's. Everything seems wired right I have done one of these before but on a 96-98 civic. First 00 civic auto to manual conversion.
Anyone?
Anyone?
Is there some sort of trick I can do to block off the IAC and just left it plugged in and adjust the tb cable for a good idle. I don't know... willing to try about anything right now.
Also the IAC seems to buzz or hum when it's plugged in, but all other 3 do the same thing. They couldn't all be bad. Could be wiring somewhere or ground maybe.
With your intake off block the bottom hole inside the throttle body and see if it lowers the
idle, if it does you can block it off. Mine has a piece of tin blocking the hole on the gasket
between the throttle body and manifold, idles solid 800 once warm but has no cold start
idle. I have to warm it for a minute then it will idle.

I did an auto to manual swap on my civic and never ran into anything like this. Youre sure the IACV is wired correctly? It might sound stupid but is your throttle cable too tight and keeping the throttle body partially open?

I change Throttle bodies already to a GSR so it only has 1 hole on the top not both. I have done that trick before and just plugged the bottom hole. Also I did check the cable and the tb opens wide open and closes completely. It's got to be the wiring and i have tried 4 different IAC's and they were all good on the Type R. Just could be the intake manifold and tb. Air getting in somewhere, but all the air seems like it's going through the top hole in the TB. I can plug it half way with my finger and it will idle down nicely.
CEck the wiring to the iacv.
I think I know what's wrong.
What ecu is it on now?
What harness did you use?
Check voltage at the iacv..
Also with the iacv disconnected did u set the base idle threw the idle screw?
Does it idle high after warm?
Is the screen clogged?
Have you bench tested the iacv?
Check for a constant ground to the iacv. It should open some on cold starts and begin to close as the engine reaches operating temps.

Do u have a b series engine? if u check for vacume leaks and ur wiring is fine. It can be two things.
1. ur ecu
2.Fast idle valve has backed off. "this is common with older honda engines."
The fast idle valve is attache to the throttle body it allows more air to enter ur engine
at cold start up. Coolant is running threw the valve. sometimes the valves backs its
self off and allow to much air to enter the intake all the time.
To fix this.
Remove ur fast idle valve from ur throttle body.
Removed the two screws on back cover and the valve is located inside.
Take the valve completely out and clean it up, apply a small amout of silicone to the
threads to prevent it from backing out again,
reinstalled the assembly topp off ur coolant and burp the system.
PM me if u need pictures of have any questions.

I found out that it was my ecu and harness for some reason. Also now when I cut off the engine it floods itself. I have to disconnect the injectors turn it over once and then plug the injectors back up and then it will start again. I have no idea WTF..
