Re: auto to manual swap , IACV issues..... (brooksto)
I just saw your post on Pub143 , the IACV are different pins on the ecu
on a manual trans it is on the IM , on the AUTO its on the TB , I'm working thru this now for a customer and will post what turns up when I'm finished...

Though you have provided no more info other than "99-00 Civic"...I can tell you that other manuals have a 3-wire, for instance the D16Y7...as I happen to own one.

Re: auto to manual swap , IACV issues..... (RSZero1)
I've converted the car to a 2 wire IACV , no MIL but the car still loads up and has surging idle
on the scanner the ECU goes between open/cloed loop , that is the problem I'm fighting now that is causing the surging idle.
I have ZERO codes on the ECU...

How to did convert it to a 2 wire IACV? or did you actually get the 5spd manifold?
The guy that did my swap grounded the third wire, and it got rid of the irratic idle problem, but because I am still using the auto manifold with the 3 wire IACV I still get a CEL for the IACV.
So can you be a bit more specific as to what you did so far to get rid of the code?
Thanks!

I'm looking into this further. On Auto ECU's the IACV plugs into pins A13 (Orange wire) and A14 (Black/blue). On the Manuals the IACV plugs into pin A12 (Black/blue).
I assume that you can leave the Orange wire alone, and relocate the Black/Blue from A14 to A12. But, you must also splice the wires from the old connector to the new one properly.
Manuals should have (according to the Haynes manual) two wires plugging into the IACV, a Black/Blue and a Yellow/Black. However, RSZero1 and I have noticed that they have a Green and Black.
Autos should have (again according to the Haynes) three wires, Black/Blue, Orange, and Yellow/Black.
Yellow/black on both lead back to the main relay.
Black/Blue on manual goes to pin A12
Black/Blue on auto goes to pin A14
Orange on auto goes to pin A13

You may have to. It depends on the IACV on your B16. Is it a 3 wire or a 2 wire?

Re: auto to manual swap , IACV issues..... (Spade)

Yes it should be wired through the harness. ALL honda's had these.
Just the EX and HX manuals had 2 wire IACV's not 3 wire.
