My 94 civic DX has no power from 3rd-5th gear. a little history the motor was replaced just a few weeks ago due to when i bought it the motor was bad. at first it was thought to be a timing issue but the timing has been set perfect and checked by 3 different ppl. the clutch is brand new and the flywheel has just been resurfaced(probably has nothing to do with it but thought i'd give the information anyway) the motor is a stock d15 motor the only mods the car currently has is a ram air intake, headers and exhaust. the car also smokes quite badly out the tail pipe (fuel not oil) not sure what to any help you guys can give would really help.

Is the engine the exact same as the one you took out?

 

CEL is not on and yes it is the same motor

ive been drinking and watching basketball doubleheader and cant think straight.

You're running rich enough to rob you of power at higher gears
Still sounds like a timing issue to me....or perhaps a bad ECU

 

lol like that basketball and drinking part, same here.

as for the car it does idle pretty rough has like a stutter to it. other than that no weird noises that i can hear

that i dont know. that's something that my mechanic friend didn't check and i have no idea how to. i'm new to all of this stuff, i'm trying to learn.
