hey guys im trying to figure out what turbo to run im shooting for high 400 to low 500whp on pump 94....dont want alot of lag what turbo would be good for me...car is street driven from time to time but will be at track every weekend.
Price range 600-800 i know tight budget but any input guys?

With this criteria you've posted, only anything 60-62lbs/min will work for that level, and with that budget, you can go used GT35R, or new GT3540S, SC61XX, 62xx, or GTK750.

You don't have a choice but to deal with LAG. you want that kind of power using that kind of fuel, you're going to get laggy..deal with it.

 

what do u guys think about sc61...full boost by 5000rpm? that wouldnt be the end of the world.

 

or is there gonna be more of a lag?

 

u could make 500 with a gt3076r but out of your price range, why not save a few more bucks and buy the right turbo for what u want. if u compromise you'll regret it. full boost at 5000 rpm doesnt give u alot of room on a ls block i wouldnt be happy with that.

 

you didn't list what was done with the cylinder head. That makes slight differences. Otherwise, yes, you're about right.

 

True, but that's also almost maxxed out doing that. He'd be over 25-30psi all day to do that. There's one or two alternatives, but they are out of his price range of $600-$800. So he's stuck with Precision or used Garrett or used Turbonetics.

 

i think im gonna go with sc61 due to its cheap lag doesnt seem 2 bad. i got a garrett 57 trim from b18b setup but .48ar lol wouldnt take long to run out of breath. yeah gt3076r out of price range. thanks for input guys.

 

ive been looking cant seem to find sc6152e anywhere new.... anyone know ive been search for about 2 hours and found nothing but used ones... if you guys know a good place please let me know.I have also found threads of sc6262s w .82 hitting full boost at 5500-6000rpm and holding it till 9200....any input what would spool better?

 

u need smaller man, wheres your rev limiter and whats your head. if your rev limiter is 7200 hitting full boost at 6000rpm is absolutely useless. a 57 trim could get u to about 425 but u will have full boost at 35-3800 rpm. if u are able to rev to 9000 then u can have a bigger turbo. it all depends.

 

Slohatch, what you're asking isn't computing for me. You have a good build list and you want to cheap out on the turbo. I'm really not understanding it. But since you asked, have a look at the STC Reaper turbo. Look in loco joe's thread for fantastic results and good response.

 

^^^ the reaper is awesome, im going with the silver surfer a little smaller but good for up to 600hp and full spool by 4200.

 

pr3 head head its built...ill be reving it to 8500-9.

Talk to the Shodan, he sells them and are the best you can get but you need to pay more.

 

yes these are custom t3/t4 turbos with garrett parts. the silver surfer is 58lbs min flow and good to 600hp if u search stc reaper u will get more results. the surfer is comparable to a gt30 turbo but cheaper and makes better top end power. it is still over your buget though which is why i say save a few more bucks up and buy something like the surfer/reaper
