I can't seem to find on the service bulletin where it does apply to a 1998, yet on some other sites they are saying it does. If someone has some info on this I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

 

No, Honda TSB A98-081 does not apply to 1998 Hondas (e.g., Civics, Accords, etc., etc., etc......)

It's related to 95 Accord V6, 96 and 97 Hondas (except Passports).

 

****! Thanks. I have the P1457 CEL and just got off the phone with Honda Corp and the guy really did not seem like he wanted to help. I've traced it down to what I think is a bad ECU. So now, I get to fail emissions testing... joy. Gonna have to spend $$$$ to get this fixed...

Does anyone know if Honda has an extended emissions warranty related to P1457? Thanks!

For the P1457, have your tried checking or changing the evap bypass solenoid valve yet?

P1457 and i think it is P1456 are a pain in the *** to deal with, and with a 14 year old car i would not expect any kind of warranty coverage. i have found it to be a leaking line, a cracked cannister, and even cracked/damaged solenoids. the last time i had to solve that code was with the honda ecu tool thing that allowed me to test each solenoid directly by activating via the ecu through the pda device...
