Default 2000 Accord P1457

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX. I have a repair quote for $600+ to repair the P1457 code - 4 parts are listed on the quote for $100 each - Canister, Purge valve, purge solenoid, and vent valve. I've talked to several people - and it seems like the purge valve and purge solenoid are in the same part. Vent Valve and canister are seperate.

My question is - can someone confirm what parts I need? Also, I believe P1457 code seems to only be related to purge valve, and does not apply to vent valve and canister.

If someone could help me diagnose\install the parts, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks -

It may be the evap bypass solenoid valve. Refer to this thread, post #4 and #7.

I found the solenoid under the hood in front of the air intake, not on top of the cannister. The part was ID'ed by a n O'Rielly Auto Parts employee. Warming up the vehicle with a light bulb under the hood over night, the engine cranks immediately.

All-

I have a 1998 Accord throwing the same code. Is there any chance this problem could make my car run rough and even die at times? My car has died while driving full tilt between 25 MPH and 70 MPH only to start after resting a few times. This is happening ~ 1/week. My research would suggest this is an ignitor (ICM) or ignition coil. Any help would be great. Also, any chance I need to clean or replace my filter by lowering my fuel tank and fishing the filter out?

Thanks and HELP PLEASE!
