does anyone know about an immobilizer? obd2b
yea jus tryin to see if anyone has any idea about an immobilizer? i got a 98 civic dx hatch i swapped all the wiring with 99-00 wiring(99 si 5sp engine harness, 00 ex 5sp cabin harness, 00 si fuse box, 00 dx 5sp floor harness, 00 dx rear harness), got a b20b swap w a p3f ecu (supposedly stock ecu from 97 crv manual trans) i live in md so i was jus tryin to get the ecu for that engine so i could pass emissions.
anyway go to start it up fuel pump primes all lights come on but wont crank, no power to the starter (spade connector wire that connect to starter solenoid) the CEL light stays on and when service connector is jumped it flashes code 6 ECT - water temperature sensor, and 10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor. (neither would prevent start as far as i am aware)
ive checked all the fuses and relays, main relay all good. when u try to crank it u can hear the relay under the hood clicking, ive verified power is coming out of the ignition cylinder with a test light, ive triple checked all the grounds. i tried jumping the starter manually, it cranks and cranks but dont start.
is there something im missing here? im about to try an obd2b p75 ecu i found for cheap cuz im at a loss here really, ive checked everything and based off wat i found and stated above it can only be the ecu or the cabin harness itself, which idk why it would be the cabin harness
please if anyone has some knowledge to shine on me do so, i have a ton of time and money in this car and it is driving me insane

A few notes. The manual wasn't available in '97 CR-Vs, it wasn't until '98 you could get a CR-V with a 5 speed. If it's a 37820-P3F-A01 it came from a '98 5 speed CR-V. I can't remember what the part number for a '99 - '01 ECU since they're discontinued and not listed anymore.
Code 6 can cause a no start condition. So you might want to investigate that further. It is not however causing there to be no power at the starter when you turn the key. Have you verified that the clutch start switch is hooked up and working?
OBD2B integra ECUs have an immobilizer and can't be used outside of an '00 - '01 Integra. Unless you want to remove the immobilizer (it will leave you with a solid CEL unless you replace it with a dummy chip)
Further note. When you use an OBD2B Integra ECU you have to move pin A16 to A15 at the ECU or the fuel pump wont turn on. I don't know if the same is true for the CR-V ECU or not, you might want to look into that as well.
Oh and none of the '97 - '01 CR-Vs had an immobilizer.

my clutch switch was working fine before this project but just to make sure I unplugged it and jumped the connector, you can hear the relay under the hood clicking when turning from ON(II) to ON(III)
my fuel pump does come on as of now, got like 40psi at the fuel filter
the only problems apparent are the CEL light, the horn mysteriously doesnt work when i have no recollection of it not working previously, and no power to the starter
Did you sort out that code 6 yet? It can legitimately cause a no start condition.

If you look around online you can find dummy immobilzer chips. If you're just testing to see if it's an ECU issue you can simply remove the immobilizer. You will need to turn the key and let the fuel pump prime before attempting to start the vehicle and you will have a solid CEL for a bad ECU, but it will function fine otherwise, no limp mode or anything.

i got a new coolant temp sensor today, been tied up past few days, but was gonna swap it out and see if it goes away, if so will attempt manually jumping the starter again. it was def plugged in and all before so. and i got a working p75 for cheap coming im gonna take the immobilizer out of to use for testing.
like i said i got the 37820-P3F-A01 now.
if its not that idk wat else it could be besides the used cabin harness from a 00 ex, even tho it looked all good. my floor and rear harness are brand new from honda but the 00 dx m/t cabin harness is $500 new @ honda which blows, my ignition harness off the ignition cyl is a brand new 00

ok so i resolved the code 6, but still no start
i also still have no clue yet as to why im not getting any power to the start but if i jump the starter manually it just cranks and cranks
and when i jump the starter manually like that it makes something faintly ring until i cycle the key off and on
dang this is so annoying, that is so much work and pain in the *** to take dash all out and follow schematics
any final suggestions?

Before you do anything too drastic make sure the clutch start switch is working, and check to make sure the rubber piece is still on the pedal to push the switch in. That wont help with the no start condition, but it might help with the no power to the starter part.
Have you checked for fuel and fire yet? Make sure the thermostat ground is on good and tight as well.

Do you have the stock cabin harness? I did a simalar switch except I did a 01 integra harness into a 97 integra I just retraced the new harness from my old harness. I wouldn't think that many things changed but a lot of the pitouts were different like the ignition plug that plugs into the fuse box were in a different pinout from a 97 ignition to a 01 ignition. Are you using a jumper for that ecu? To many varibles.
i have a paper clip in the clutch switch plug to be sure the switch isn't the issue
and honestly the only variable is the 00 ex harness, everything else is brand new, part # matched and if not new, tested
the 37820-P3F-A01 ecu works fine, fuel pump primes with factory pinout, and is the ecu for the engine that is in the car from factory
EDIT: NO JUMPER HARNESS obd2b wiring, obd2b ecu

hey where can u get a dummy immobilzer chips? looked online no luck..i need one for my 2000 integra gsr..or anybody know someone i can get in contact that has them and installs? i pulled immobilizer off and ive had car running now i wana get rid of that check engine light.if any one knows where i can get one or knows someone i can send it out to let me know thanks guys!
