I need a reliable Daily Driven MOTOR / TURBO .
I was wondering what would be the most reliable daily driven motor with some sort of power i was thinking about going B20v again or LSv or even LS turbo I need something reliable with some sort of power i can possibly have it tuned, i do have a budget at the same time . I was planning on buying a dc shell & just throw in a motor that's reliable and a has a little bit of power at the same time it's going to be daily driven nothing to crazy but if anyone can let me know what the cheapeast but reliable motor would be that won't cost an arm and a leg it would be greatly appreciated .
If i can't get any help ill just end up getting a stock GSR or something ...

I think we should start with a ballpark budget before we get too deep into what we suggest. A LS-T can be built for 2500, a mild GSR for 3000 and H2B for 3500+ etc etc
OP what do you have to work with?

For that price you're not gonna have anything that's turbo'd.
You can build a stock internal LSVTEC for $1,500. You should use ARP rod bolts, ARP head studs, VTEC oil/water pumps, VTEC timing belt, GE VTEC conversion kit, B16 pistons. Call it a day.
@93egSLEEPER, we should start a "budget build/swap thread" that should be stickied, and cover all possible budget swaps/builds for under $3,500 so threads like this will stop popping up.

What internals are in the B20? For around 2k you can get a full Go-Autoworks turbo kit.

you need to set aside money for tuning, thats the key. a good program and a good tuner. dont get one of your boy's boy's cousins who had a turbo b16 like 6 years ago to burn you his basemap. those situations never work well. if you want to turbo and do it right you will be paying out a few grand. no way around it.
whats the compression of your b20 vtec?
