B18Cr All Motor Build
hey guys im looking for a little advice so im going to Automotive Technical School In ohio and i just brought my motor out here to rebuild.(I get all the machine work done for free)
First off i have completley disasembled it and hot tanked the bottom end, its fairly clean. Im trying to build this car so i can drive it maybe twice a week and be a weekend warrior and show up all the kids at school lol. Im looking for a car i can bracket race but drive on the street when i want. Im looking to get about 210-240whp out of this NA build. Mind i have a budget so any suggestions on "cheap" good parts please tell.
Im thinking about going to a bore of 82.mm maybe forged wiesico pistons and forged eagle rods i saw a kit on ebay for $784.00? any other suggestions on piston setups would be great.
I already have a buddy club spec 2 cam and cam gears in the type r head. I was thinking of getting supertech valve springs and kms titanium retainers, im not sure the condition of the valves but im asking myself is it worth putting that much money into it? do i need valve guides and whatever other valve train stuff?
For the intake manifold im thinking skunk2pro and i need a cheap and good suggestion for exhaust will ebay 4-1 headers and a **** *** ebay exhaust work?
Also i have no clue what type of injectors i should be running i want the injector dynamics 725cc but they are SOOOOO much dough. Any cheap Alternatives?
one last thing i have the type r trans lsd mint condition what clutch should i buy
i want this car (ek hatch) to revv the F**k out

Could read:
''I wanna do 210 to 240whp on a 1.8l with a cheap header, shitty exhaust, cheap/ghetto injectors and not really suitable cam for my engine/power goal, any input ?''

"I am absolutley clueless - even though RPMs destroy engines, and I don't have the supporting camshafts or engine modifications - I wants car to rev extremely high. The reason being I want 'vTAk 2 p0p y0!'"...
1.) You never stated a budget.
2.) Only maybe the Intake Manifold and Injectors could help you towards your goal.
3.) You must not know how expensive it is to get 210-240whp out of a 1.8L huh?
4.) If you are "asking yourself if it's worth putting 'that much' money" into something - I have news for you - A build of any kind is out of the question for you. The worst place you could start would be N/A. It takes money to make power unlike turbo or nitrous. (Calm down people, I never said anything about quality or reliability.)
Just ditch your dreams and do a minor rebuild and maybe up the compression some. You have a lot to learn... The journey has already begun.

I'd start with nothing less than a 84MM bore, a 3" exhaust, and ID725 or ID1000cc injectors. Making power all motor is not easy and you have to scrape for every last bit of power that can be made in every area. This usually means spending outrageous amounts to gain that extra HP over the next competitor in products.

Instead of being a clown like some.. I'll point you in the right direction.
Rebuild your B18, with P30 pistons, new rings/bearings. Should yield roughly around 250-300. Upgrade your rod bolts, to ARPS. No need to change your rods, or Crank, unless the crank is messed up.
Pretty much just a rehone, if you are looking for a tad more torque, go to 82mm, they sell p30's in 82mm..just look around.
I suggest ditching those shitty cams. Go with a skunk2 pro series or supertech valvetrain..the works. That should yield you around 400-500.
So far, your bottom end is stouted, and you have a good valvetrain. I suggest spending the money on where it counts. Good header, 3'' exhaust, good manifold(pX manifold would suit your goals right now) And a GOOD set of cams.
I have a customer who's running a stock GSR right now with my cams and a few bolt ons, he's making roughly 205+whp.. you may pm for more info on my custom cams, or you can look into Pro1's, s2s2/s2s3's or something along those lines.

He'll spend 1500 total, if that, and if he follows what i told him. He'll make 200+whp..which will be decently quick in alot of things. Numbers are just numbers..by now everyone should know that..

Since you already have an engine, the rest of the build will be fairly cheap. You probably won't need forged rods/pistons for that power goal. Get your compression up to near 12:1 or so with the ITR/P30's pistons and head milling.
Run a Performer X intake manifold and get a hytech replica from ebay for 170 shipped!
Run RDX injectors

Oh, so you want to go this route I see? Interesting theory "9400RPMs", I must say your reputation precedes you. So you are saying a completely stock engine without supporting mods will hold 11,000 RPMs without problems? You are showing just how clueless you actually are. If anybody had a gram of sense they would steer clear from you. Especially after posting things like this:
On top of this, all for $1,500? When you actually build an engine, let me know. We can talk - otherwise, you should probably just stop posting ignorant statements. Also, being that no goals for trap speeds were posted - what is the point in saying numbers don't matter? The OP posted about WHP desires - you fail to see this.
OP - If you truly want to learn then stay in school. On the other side of things, experience helps tremendously. Your goals while staying in a set budget of only $2,500; especially if you want something reliable. If you want to see time and time again what is needed for your goals, start searching builds with dyno graphs. I think you will be disappointed.

I've built plenty of engines..plenty. At work i rebuild at least 2-3 a month..What kind of cars do you work on, on a daily basis? Because i work on 70,80,90k+ cars everyday.. Audi's, Porsche.. the list goes on. How many Audi motors have you rebuilt?? How about how many RS4's,S4's,s5's have you re flashed?? I'll keep going.. how many times have people flown you around the nation to tune cars, or traveled 2 states away to get tuned by you..? I have literally a TON of customers world wide, running my cams, valvetrain, or maps or tunes that I have done. Seriously...?
You know "nothing" about me, its obvious in the past I've hit a nerve with you or something. If that is the case I'm sorry. I have a very good reputation, you're right. Dont pick a bone with me, because you got called out on your stupid *** response you gave.
No idea where your response came from, but dont get butt hurt when you're ignorant responses get shot down because YOU dont have an idea. If you are dead set of having a problem with me, PM Me, i'll be happy to hear you out, also if you want a link to my personal FB page or my Business's page (DDTech) so you can see some of the work i've done, i'll be more then happy to link you.

Again, its all with what the motor makes, how well he drives and what type of tire setup he has.
I agree fully that right now, it seems alittle "blunt" of a request.. I however think its doable, if done correctly.
OP, search username "SoloDC". He's currently still on a stock bottom end GSR, over 155k miles, reving to alittle over 8800rpms. He's got bolt-ons, and my stage 1 cams, makes 205 through a full exhaust setup and is trapping well over 102-104mph. I dont know what ET's he is currently running but this is again, in a full interior GSR which is alittle bit heavier then a "EK".
