Why do u have (em1) in your question? If its an em1 you should have a b16 unless it was swapped out...

um why do you have a y7 in a em1 (99-00 civic si) and a y5 is not an upgraded it's for fuel economy also the y5 used an egr valve and a 5 wire o2 sensor so you would need that manifold . if it is really an em1 stick a b series vtec motor back in it

I think it's helarious that people are jumping on this guy for calling his car an EM1, yet when people say they have an EK, no one says anything. For the record, OP, if you're in America, you probably have an EJ.

OP, you can run the Y7 harness, but you'll have to custom wire a few sensors, as well as the secondary O2. You'll have to get the HX O2 sensor, which is extremely expensive comparatively. Unless you're getting this motor for free, I honestly wouldn't put the time, money, and effort into the swap. You'll have a slower motor, a lot of money spent, and a lot of headaches.

No....the canadian EM1 still had a B16A2 in it. They call those SI-Rs. For it to be an EM1, it has to be a north american 99-00 civic coupe with a factory installed B16A2. The Canadian Si is an EJ....it's like the USDM EX.

To the guy who asked why we're ragging on the OP for calling it an EM1: It's confusing why an EM1 ended up with a Y7....so that might change the answers to his question. The answers to the question also become very different if he actually has an EM1 since VTEC and the knock sensor is already wired in. Unless someone changed the harness? Either way...it's a source of some confusion. EM1 is also more specific than 'EK'. EM1 actually describes a very specific chassis. If you're going to use technical terms, you need to use them correctly.

OP: do you actually have an EM1?
