Default Frozen cooling system?

My mates EK3 have had some problems lately. It started when this Siberian wether came to Denmark (down to as low as -22). His radiator died, kinda exploded, so he got a new one on filled it with pure coolant (no water) changed the thermostat and put it into a heated garage for 1 week.
He have now been driven a couple of days, all is perfect but then today he phone me and tells me that the car is like boiling and there is coolant all over the engine bay. We now suspect the water pump being destroyed.
The system has been bleed and all work was done by a very skilled mechanic

Anyone got a clue what it could be?

Thanks

Possibly could be the head gasket if there's coolant being pushed out into the engine bay

Could be as simple as a Thermostat malfuction or as worst as a head gasket. I would start with inspecting the rub gasket for the thermo and the thermos
tat.

when ever u remover or refill or change the thermostat air builds up in the water system and boils wherever theres any air pocket. you always have to remmeber to bleed the water system. the bleeder is on the side of the head on the top radiator hose.

You must have some water in the coolant. Check the manual or spec on the coolant.
