Now tell him why you think it's a waste of time.

As I understand it, you use the engine harness that's in the car then wire up VTEC. Possibly other things as well.

You wont feel any effect of vtec in a single cam motor, save your money.

Anything would be an improvement over 1.4 liters.

Well yes but the practical thing to do would be a swap, I don't want him to think that vtec is the equivalent to a nitrous spray which most uninformed gentleman think. vtec in a single cam is more sound considering they have a aftermarket intake lol. Stock air box makes it sound like a baby fart. Nothing special IMO.

Trying to find more specs on this. Euro model? 5-speed or automatic?

Does it currently have one of those weird 2 plug Euro ECUs for SFI? If so I'd say you're going to have source a harness from a a car that's got a regular MPFI setup.

I looked into a couple of times before. The last time the OP was kind enough to post a pinout. Here's what I can tell you, there's a lot of stuff missing over a regular 3 plug ECU, there's also stuff there that isn't on a regular 3 plug ECU, which makes me think it's probably cheaper and easier to just source a regular MPFI harness/loom the correct year for the car. You may need to swap the cabin harness as well, I'm not sure. SFI is weird, it's got 4 injectors but only 2 injector drivers, it fires two injectors at the same time. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could take a picture of the ECU with the cover off, I'm curious to see if there's a chance they could be chipped.

Also, here's a link to the last thread where this came up -> http://www.ht-archive.org/showthread.php?p=46741718
