2000 1.4 sport to d16y8!!! HELP PLEASE
i have a 2000 civic hatch 1.4 sport and i managed to get a d16y8 with ecu but no loom what is my options for wiring the new engine? im not looking for a crazy fast street car just wanted vtec,

Now tell him why you think it's a waste of time.
As I understand it, you use the engine harness that's in the car then wire up VTEC. Possibly other things as well.

Well yes but the practical thing to do would be a swap, I don't want him to think that vtec is the equivalent to a nitrous spray which most uninformed gentleman think. vtec in a single cam is more sound considering they have a aftermarket intake lol. Stock air box makes it sound like a baby fart. Nothing special IMO.

Does it currently have one of those weird 2 plug Euro ECUs for SFI? If so I'd say you're going to have source a harness from a a car that's got a regular MPFI setup.
