EJ1 is a body style. D15 is an engine. You cannot turbo a body style, only engines.
Are you sure you're phrasing the question correctly?

i realieze an ej1 is a body style so a d16z6 is what im getting at. buy that and do bolt ons or buy a cheaper hatchback (d15b7) and get a turbo for that. maybe that clears it up.

I'm making sure YOU know what you're talking about. I'm not assuming anything.

Also, how do you expect anyone to answer this question? No one one knows what you'd be paying for either one of these cars.

Lastly, list the specs of the full turbo kit you plan on installing.

Odds are slim he knows what a full turbo set up consists of.

My answer hinges on what he replies. I'm not going to assume anything about his knowledge of turbo systems just yet.

Kinda wondering about that myself. Is there really that much of a price difference between a 5th gen coupe and a hatch? Pick one then add about 3 grand for the turbo kit (if you plan on doing it right). And if you plan on building either engine then it doesn't matter.

Well it really depends on the price of each... And the condition of each. It was a super blind question. Should I got to the mall or the grocery store?........ Well the hell are you buying? Lmao

Yea I realize that they are about the same price range but from what I've seen on Craigslist there isn't to many ex's compared to the hatchbacks. What I'm doing is just trying to plan it out. It is kind of a blind question.

Yep while I'm at that I'll be sure to remove the head for extra hp... I'm not retarded I know there's more that just putting a turbo in.

Doesn't sound like it. It's been my experience that anyone that askes which one is "better" or what is the "best" has absolutely no clue what they are talking about. Doubt me? Do a search for either keyword and watch what uninformed tripe pops up. Same goes for people that tend to avoid answering any questions that are put to them.

And you still have yet to fill in the missing info. Like how much we're talking about for either car. Without that you might as well should not have even posted.

A boosted anything, including a lawnmower, will put down more power than any Z6 with do-nothing bolt-ons. You don't sound like you know that. The choice seems pretty obvious to me if your goal is to be fast and furious.

lol right... i agree with grumble you really dont know jack waht you're talking about

1st mistake u tried talking about a car vs a MOTOR
2nd mistake you thought that a Z6 with boltons would make power!
3rd mistake you asked whats the best
4th never mentioned a tune
5th never mentioned what turbo
6th you mentioned that buying the motor might be cheaper than Buying a WHOLE CAR no sh*t?
7th you never mentioned a budget
8th your budget must be low because you cannot afford a 2000 dollar civic
9th ur name is JDM and thats just plain dumb sorry but whats so jdm about a Canadian or a US civic?

thats all i can list out of the top of my head
