hey guys i was driving rather slowly earlier today came almost to a complete stop but the car was still rolling and instead of going into 1st i went into 2nd and press the gas the engine almost stalled out and then it started sputtering and misfiring..instantly it sounded different it now sounds like a subaru (you guys should know that sound am talking about) and it also idles fine just a little rough but you don't hear or feel the misfire until you rev the engine or try to move off you have to rev extra hard or else it shuts off, and i tried to punch it a bit but it is leaning out......i checked my wires and fuel pressure gauge those were still working normal...alright my little 2cents is that the spark plugs got really fouled when i was trying to drive off in that 2nd gear??? Alright let me know...1. What the problem is? 2. What cause it exactly based on the details given (if more info is needed please let me know)? and 3. How to go about fixing it??, Really need to fix it have to drive like 8 hours to go bck to my job in the next couple days so yeah!!! Thanks in advance guys!!

you know to be honest we we just looking on it sparks i have a see-thru msd cap they could have been more powerful it's kinda weak...but doing what i said i did can that contribute to this and how??

 

pull a spark plug out and make sure its not soaked in oil and check your ditrubutor if its not tight and ur beating on it it will move. did is smoke at all???

 

perhaps timing jumped mechanically when you lugged the engine? how's the timing belt look?

 

check your spark plugs and fuel injector resistor box my homeboys si was doing the same thing sounded like an STI and running lean. after 4 weekends of us looking at it , it ended up being the resistor box. good luck!!!

 

Thanks guys changed the plugs went and got some NGK Iridium and got valve cover gasket kit as well....the plugs in there were covered in oil especially the one in the the 2nd cylinder...it run great now!!!
