Default Quick ? for the stunnas :)

Today driving home from work, I went to pass a fool and down shifted to 4th gear. As I went to change lanes another driver took my spot so I remained in 4th @ about 5k till I could make my lane change. As I was holding the rpm's steady (at part throttle) I felt a surging from the motor. As I stepped back into it the motor reacted as usual. Has anybody else experienced this or is something out of wack? Thanks.

Explain what you mean by a surging from the motor?

I'm not sure what that is. Mine does not do that. Anyone?

Did it do it just once, or can you make it do it all the time?

probably your radiator fan kicked in... just like when you're sitting at a light and your fan kicks in and the motor jump by 2-300 rpm. That's my guess... I don't know why you would've felt it that hard though.

After it happened I was able to repeat it.

Oh and it doesn't do it in gears 1,2 and 3

yea possibly ac or rad fan, and you would feel it like that because you were driving at higher rpm in a lower gear

Thanks for the input!!! The a/c wasn't on and wasn't the rad fan. Unfortunately I have a problem with the vtec solenoid or something. It won't engage anymore and when it did it used to click when activating and deactivating. Any ideas? I am thinking I will change the lost motion assemblies and clean the vtec solenoid first. Second I need to find a JDM ITR t/b gasket or go back to the GeeSR t/b. I have a vacuum leak and Hondabond is not working. What do you guys think? Thanks..... John

Yes it has vtec. OH... Vtec. BTW, oil level is fine and doesn't lose any between oil changes.
