Default Quiet time...options?

I've got a 60mm stainless OBX system on my 93 4dr, but I chopped off the big fart can that came with it and welded on a nice little RSR muffler that came off of JDM accord exhaust, still a straight thru muffler and it's pretty loud.
Anyway mobbing around the lake taking the scenic route home from work I got popped for the noisy muffler. Unknown to me the feds have changed the SAE noise test procedure from 50' back and 10' to the side, to the corner of the rear bumper at 2/3rds throttle, so I failed miserably at 103db on the sound meter.
I've installed a GSR muffler in the past(prior car) and was pretty happy with it, but they are getting hard to find. Aside from buying a bosal or other new oem equiv replacement, has anyone had any luck with a universal weld on type muffler that isn't raspy?
I want to use as much of the SS system as possible and just weld the muffler on, so I would prefer not to but the whole axle-back thing, just the muffler.
