oil on block during oil change
I know everyone experiences it, your doing an oil change on your b series and you unscrew the filter then the oil runs all down the back of your block and on every bracket and all over your header. Is there anything out there to stop this like a plate or a special way to do it without getting oil everywhere. Just built an all motor gsr and dont want oil all over it. Thanks
You could probably spray simple green or a high strength cleaner on the block first, do your oil change and then spray down the back of your engine with a hose or a pressure washer. The spray should create a barrier so the oil doesn't "stick". Could work?
there are commercially available filter relocation kits. adapter plate with two hoses and a remote filter mount. place the mount where spillage can be controlled and easily cleaned.
personally, i think that would be a little over the top, but the option is there. i have no trouble washing the block down with a little brake parts cleaner after i'm done. cheap, simple and effective.
