Default ls/vtec or poor mans type r?

I have almost all the stuff to do an all stock ls/vtec swap into my crx but now I have the opportunity to do a poor mans type r with a port and polished b16 head, dual springs on both sides and a gsr block with eagle rods and oem valves and b16 pistons.
I was told an all stock ls/vtec swap has more horse and torq than a poor mans type r but the poor mans type r is a stronger more dependable setup.

Opinions or comments on which one should I do?

If you actually take your time to build the LSV right (everything in spec) and use ARP rod bolts and such, it will be just as reliable as any PMTR.

The extra displacement of the LSV will give you a hair more TQ and the ability to make more power easier. "There's no replacement for displacement" Either motor will be a nice build.

GSR block is stronger than a LS block due to the extra webbing it has. As far as a LS crank or GSR crank, honestly it doesnt make much difference. The LS rod bearings are wider, which leads to more friction which is always a concern to myself...however I have revved them to 9k problem free in the past.
