I recently purchased a 2000 EM1. I noticed that my a/c controls on the ac/radio panels light up white, i had a 99 em1 when they first came out and i couldve sworn everything in the ac/radio panel lit up orange. I bought this car used and im trying to get it back to stock standards. Im also having a problem with the sunroof controls where the middle button (the button that tilts the sunroof ) doesnt work. The only way i can tilt the sunroof is if i hold the top button (button to close the sunroof ) down, and when it closes all the way my dome light comes on. Could it be the wiring or a bad switch? I bought this as a project car and its driving me nuts, it doesnt have the original b16a2, it has a jdm b16a with no number next to the code on the block, which tells me that there might be something with the wiring, honda wants to charge me 300$ just to diagnose and they dont guarantee finding or fixing the problem . please help this is driving me INSANE

 

I remembered correctly, the ac controls are supposed to light up orange, what does this mean, could it be that i have a ac panel/controls from a regular civic ? or does it have something to do with the connectors that go into the panel ?

 

They do light up orange, when I first got my car none of those lit up on mine so I went to honda and got the part. The regular civic is the same type of bulb I believe but a different color? not sure about that but if you want it orange go to honda and ask them to order it for you or go on majestic honda and order it yourself. The panel is the same from 99-00 si or not si the color of the bulb is what makes the difference if im correct.

 

i guess i need to find out for sure if its the panel thats from a regular civic that i have on my em1...what holds the bulb ? im guessing the panel not the connector right ? everything works on the panel i have on there now it just lights up like a regular civic... anyone know ?

It isn't the bulb, it is a little orange condom that fits over the bulb giving it the amber color if i remember correctly

the only difference in the climate control is the bulb cover which comes with a new bulb+base.
