stripped headstud bolt!
whats up guys i ran into a bit of a problem with my headstuds i picked up a full ls motor to start to build my ls-v and i noticed once i got the cams out that one of the headstud heads is stripped has anyone ran into this before and got it out if so id appreciate it alot with some pointers on how to get it out
Do a google search for "twist sockets". They have spiral edges that bite into the stripped head. Pick the right size, tap it down on the bolt head with a hammer, the remove it with a breaker bar or whatever.
If that doesn't work- Drill the head off the bolt, remove the rest of the bolts, pull engine head off block over the now-headless bolt, remove headless bolt from the block.
haha thanks for the input guys but no the actual nut on top of the stud was stripped i just went to sears and bought an extractor kit and got it out within minutes thanks anyways guys mods can delete this if you choose to do so thank you
