96-98 climate control trouble
Okay anyone who owns/ed an ek must know about this.
So the lights on the cc don't turn on usually I would do the ole tap at the bottom the cc and they go on. But I just recently bought a hatch the cc lights dont turn on at all no matter how hard I bang lol. Frankly it's really buggin me that they won't turn on and it's driving me crazy!
Well I do get power to the light sockets and the bulbs are good. So my theory is that the sockets are giving a weak to no connection.
My question is is there a DIY on fixing this or maybe get a new connector from honda? I'm not tryin ghetto rig it either unless there's no choice lol any suggestions would help
Thanx!

Yezzzir. Sometimes the cc lights up but a little tap would turn them off. I know it the socket. I'm thinking just replacing that bulb socket for a different type but same size bulb. I wanna get it working before I buy LEDs so I know what type to get
Very common problem for 96-98... my 97 hx you could hit the dash and they would work but now that doesn't even work anymore. I remember someone on here swapped theirs out for another unit which worked. It's a short or something inside because sometimes mine will light up one side but not the other.
First step is to check whether the heater control panel gets voltage:
1) Dust off your multimeter.
2) Unplug the 14P connector at the rear of the heater control panel.

3) Check whether the Red/Blk wire terminal in the connector has battery voltage to body ground.
