Need some advice on quick struts, rotors etc..
okay im doing a small build on my 93 dx hatch, it has a 95 ex motor its auto trans. I want advice on the following below....
1. I want to put high performance rotors, any suggestions and also is 9.44 the OEM size?
2. I have 15x7 rims are 195/50/15 tire size a good choice?
3. I dont want to lower my height so I was thinking of monroe quick struts to replace my shot OEM. Are they any good, any suggestions?
4. any suggestions on racing seats? I was thinking of white sparco...
Any help would be appreciate it, I will post pics of my progress soon...thanks in advance.

1. To be honest, I used some ebay crossed/slotted rotors on my last coupe and worked fine...I now have some ebay crossed/slotted rotors on my f350 TurboDiesel that I use to haul a bobcat. No problems with them!
2.Yes, 195/50/15 will work nicely. Maybe some 55's - I believe 55s are stock.
3.Monroe shocks are ok. If you have some extra money, I would look into KYB.
4.White seats will get dirty quick and easy!

1. What are high performance rotors?
2. 195/55-15 seems to be the stock size so a 50 series should be fine.
3. Any stock replacement is fine.
4. I'll answer this. As soon as I stop laughing.

Thanks for the reply, so its safe to say that 9.44 will fit as far as rotors go? And yeah I thought that white may do that, but every one has done red to death. But I'll consider another color. Would the KYB give me a comfortable ride? Again, thanks.
I think EX is 10.25 if you have ABS and DX is 9.4's...not 100% on this...maybe grumble knows and will chime in

Thumb through this...you should find what you're looking for. Don't want to give you the wrong size.

Yes, that puts you at about exactly the same outside diameter as a 175/70/R13
Edit, yes KYB will give you a comfortable stock type ride, the tokico blues will also give a stockish ride, maybe a little stiffer (I'm running tokico blues on my own civic, they ride nice, but if I hadn't gotten them for a really good deal I probably would have gone with KYBs instead.
Just buy some good quality blank rotors, OEM honda work very well, last forever and almost never warp, the downside is they're somewhat pricey.

I would highly recomend that you buy some KYB GR-2s or Tokico blues and pair them with OEM springs. There are definitely worse shocks out there than monroe, but there are just as many that are a lot better. If you're worried about downtime, pick up a junk set of OEM shocks and springs for the top mounts, hardware and bump stops, you can build the new shock/spring assemblies at your leisure this way. Also new OEM coil springs are probably less than you think they are. (I just paid $32 each for new rear springs for my '94 sedan at my local dealership)

There is a thread around here with break setups. As long as nobody swapped the knuckles, it will be the 9.4" rotor. Only certain EX/Si had them, and all that had ABS, and the del sol vtec had 10.3" rotors. You can just measure the rotor to be sure.
Do not buy drilled/slotted rotors. Often times they're lower quality and there are instances of them breaking. Just get good pads like Hawk or such.
Your shocks won't affect the ride height, anything will be better than 17 year old shocks with probably 200k miles. There are a lot of people upgrading, just put a want ad on Craigslist or check the FS section for used struts to get the springs, top hats and bump stops. I just reused my old parts on my new Konis.

if youre looking for nice racing style seats check out the NRG Type R seats. you can reuse the seatbelt buckle from your oem seats so you get really nice looking comfortable seats that can recline and you wont break your neck in a roll over because you have your oem seatbelt

You can definitely use the hardware. The springs, if it's not sagging bad yes go ahead, the front ones rarely ever sag, but the rears often get soft.

Its funny how when people are actually helping all you felt the need to do was bomb with a lame joke. If I wanted ford Focus seats in my Civic guess what, if they fit I can have them because at the end of the day its my car. Btw, for the rest thanks for all the advice on this stuff...I'll post up pics soon.

Racing seats in a Autmatic or even daily driven car are stupid and a waste of money why not instead of that convert it to manual
1. Get Brembo Blanks and Hawk Pads
2. Those rims are just fine
3. shocks dont lower you but springs get KYB shocks like everyone said
there i helped
its funny how u are going to look back 6 months from now and feel like

PS
I am not trying to be a smart ***, and i appreciate that you clarified what you had said. And at some point I will get a manual trans civic, but only if its a stock VX.
I used to have a F1spec in my car.
I LOVED it.
As far as rotors/pads you don't need anything special. brembo/hawk is a great setup, but may be overkill for you.
For shocks, Kyb or tokico is you're best bet.

well they may not be overkill. see reason why I am trying to make this as good as its going to get inside and ride comfort is because i will be in it for 700 miles a week. I found a full leather interior from a 92 integra but i am finding it hard to confirm if it will fit.

Interior wont, but the seats can.
You'd have a easier time with 94-01 integra seats. Fronts will be bolt in.
Okay, i meant that i found rear and front leather 92 integra seats. i believe i have 95 integra cloth already but are beyond worn, and to upholster would cost more than buying used already leather. so the front will need some mod i guess.
I've only seen a couple people mention it, so I'm going to say it again. Get blank rotors. Do not get slotted rotors. Do not get drilled rotors. Get blanks.
98civdx is only partially correct. The seats (front and rear) will fit in your car, as will the dash if you so chose. The rears and dash may require some minor modification, but they will fit.
Just in case anyone missed it the first time around, get blanks.

I'd be lying if I said it was easy, but it's doable. The seats, on the other hand, are cake.
mm, there's that. Guess I missed the year. I'm sure it's doable, it would just be even more of a royal pain in the *** than I already mentioned. Not quite SR20-in-Civic pain in the ***, but probably more like RSX-dash-in-Civic pain.
