im 99% sure you cannot use d16 pistons with the d17 crank and rods. you need to source some civic ngx pistons for highest compression or buy custom pistons

D16 piston will stick way the **** out, need d17 pistons, preferably gx ones as they net 12ish:1 compression, also don't plan on revving too high d16 rod/stroke ratio is shitty and a d17 is even worse and their rod bolts are dinky... There's a hondatuning article about the super d, cliffs:it blew up

lolz. i havea set of cp pistons now, they are about 11.5 to 1 but they came out to be just over 11 slightly.

believe it or not, the rods are the same legnth in the d16/d17 , just a difference of pistons and crank.

i believe ill just d\save my pennies for the swap i want.

Think d17's are narrower on the big end of the rod, but yes same length as d16/d15b vtec. Wise choice in saving for swap. I've always wanted to do a all motor d series but in the end it just don't make sense $$$ wise

I thought about that combo before. It nets over 15:1 compression. Unless you want to run it on diesel you'll need to go with lower compression pistons.

it takes custom pistons to clear with a decent compression. zc, z6, y8, and any others i could get my hands on were too tall. they would have to be milled.

P08s from a D15B Vtec look like the sweet spot for pump gas. 9.61 compression ratio. Hard to find used though. P07 VX pistons look like they would yeild a low 8.13:1 compression ratio, might be nice for boost.

Nice D-series compression calculator if you haven't seen it before -> http://www.zealautowerks.com/dseries.html

sportsman racing 10.3:1 pistons, -2.5 cc invert dome, with the crower stage 2 cam and aem cam gear set to 3 deg advance, with the bbk 62mm tb and a slightly larger set of injetors, then set the vtec valve to open at 3800 rpms and theres your midrange d16z6
