Default turbo d16z6 internals

I have a turboed d16z6, 8 psi, 185whp, intercooled, s-afc, 440cc injectors, etc... and I am wondering what I should do now as far as internals go. I guess I didn't think about it too much when I did the custom set-up. What would you guys recomend to save my motor, pistons & rods?, blockgaurd, valves? I am just really lost, any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Just go for somthing like Eagle rods, and any pistons. Keep the compression where it is. There is one brand of piston nobody likes b/c of silicon, but I don't know what they are. Go with eagles and a quality piston, and it'll be good for a long while.

i believe you are talking about the SRP pistons as the ones having alot of Silcon content. I run SRP's and even though the havent seen boost yet i am happy with them. They are basically shelf stock JE pistons. Weisco makes a good piston thats not too much also.

yah a guy i know had srp's but he just cracked two at like 20psi on his d16. he rags on the car TOO much though so i dunno if it was his fault. IMO go for JE's, CPs, or Weisco.

So you guys think that all I need is pistons and rods? Why keep compression the same? Am I gonna gain some hp by just putting in new pistons and rods? and what Psi would be good for daily driving with new rods and pistons? Sorry for all the questions.

if things are done right you might pick up a pony or too, just because things will be in spec more so than before the rebuild., but these are not mods you do to get more power from. you get more power by running more boost without snapping a rod, or blowing a hole in a piston.

I plan on 10psi daily with my setup, around 12-14 on race days. Hell i would be happy with 8psi right no considering my turbo is on my garage floor. IMO if you are 14psi and under stock sleeves will be fine and rods/pistons will be great. If you are worried, you can sleeve, block post, or even block gaurd your block for more strength.

Rods and pistons are insurance for your engine. They are there to make sure thigns go good for a long time.

I have a D16Z6 and run 10psi from my charger w/ 100 shot of spray on top (tuned). 9:1 arias pistons, crower rods, str blockguard . works great for me.
see sig for more.
