hey all, accord newbie here. my CEL was tripped in our 98 accord. i ran my OBDII scanner and i got P1259 "manufacturer control". any tips on where i should start trouble shooting this? thanks in advance.

 

i thought the p1259 was for the vtec. either a vtec system malfunction or lack of oil pressure.

easiest things you can do is check the oil level and age. and make sure the vtec solenoid is plugged in. the screen may need cleaning for the vtec controller also

 

thanks for the help, i checked the oil and it was low. i added a quart, reset the light and it did the trick. my gf bought this car from her aunt and they had the oil changed at a quicky lube place before they gave it to her. i think they didnt add enough oil to it when they changed it.

also, the coolant was a little low, so i topped it just below the max line, and its been holding steady so no leaks.
