Default Gunk Oil Cleaner ok to use?

I picked up a Botle of Gunk Oil cleaner...You use it before you change your oil..Dump it in your engine, run your engine for 5 mins, then drain your oil, and charge your oil and filter. Anyone use this stuff? Is it safe to use?

i'd stay away from these products.. i think its better to change your oil more regularly.. than use engine cleaners...

I bought the car used at 39k...As it was..The oil filter looked like it was changed at 15k..so I am assuming that they never did the 30k tuneup..I just did a 30k and 45k tune up...trying to get everything running right.

Alright..I might as well use it...But..Should I put on a cheap oil filter, and put in cheap oil...drive it for like a hundred miles, then put my mobil1 oil and filter in? Just to make sure its cleaned out?
Keep in mind I am replacing my oil pan gasket as well.

YES, that is the way to do it!

I use the Gunk cleaner every oil change in my mazda... keeps my HLA tap down to a minimum! The guys over at probetalk use engine cleaners religously!

What do you use to clean the oil pan and block when installing a new gasket on it? Brake parts cleaner? I just want to say its annoying to change this gasket Had to take off the A-pipe, the shield on the tranny (can see the flywheel now) and some bolts that hold the brakets from the tranny to block.
My engine is nice and clean tho
Relized that when I painted my valve cover that that I put the ground to my valve cover...not to the stud, lol.
