Vtec wiring?

Default Vtec wiring?

I am new to honda and acura so im still learning, but i bought a 1989 honda civic HB with a b18c and the vtec was not hooked up. it has the p72 ecu i was told. i have the 3 wires that go into the vtec solenoid hooked up and the o2 sensor, the vtec is either really weak so i cant tell or its just not engaging, advice/ info anyone?

Check what ecu you have first

Also maure sure it wired up properly. Your ecu jumper may not be wired up right

You'll have a jumper harness for that ecu. What obd is the ecu obd1?

So you have a jumper harness. Check the wiring on that

What is the jumper harness? this is the first vehicle ive owned like this, my last vehicle was an 86 chevy pickup

It's the harness plugged into your ecu so you can use an obd1 ecu

How do you know vtec isn't working?
Is your CEL lit up?

It shouldn't slam you into your seat as it's supposed to be a gradual changeover.
When you are driving and go over about 4500 RPM, do you hear your exhaust/intake change pitch?
