Default EK with Full B16 vs Gsr/B16

I'm currently running a gsr head on a b16 block right now, but I might be getting rid of my head. If this occurs i'd be running a b16 head. Now the head I have not if built totally besides cams and cam gears and I would try to find the same in a B16 head.

What i'm trying to find out is, what would be the differences ( gains and losses ) of going to a b16 head vs the head I have now. Mind you my car is not tuned right now, but I'm ok with how it drives now, I just dont want to lose a lot in this deal.. So i'm just trying to see whats the difference in both heads.

stick with your gsr head.
your compression should be higher like in the low 11 or high 10's with the PR3 pistons.
its better if you have mild cams.
should gain little more power than putting on a b16 head.

not worth the swap

GSR head has scary similair flow as the b16, but gives more CR and has slightly better porting potential because of the port angle.

B16 head had more intake options but that has changed intime, and you can do wonderfull things with the GSR mani (just make sure to ditch the iab's if they are not controlled by the ecu)

if i had both heads lying next to me and i would have to choose wich to bolt on, i'd choose the gsr anytime

Yeah i like the gsr head more to. I purposely chose it for my b16 turbo build. I like the fact it has the quench areas...

I was told that the compression is higher with this head... but i was trying to just weigh my options. Due to recent auto issues, this head will not be going anywhere as I cant afford any changes and i'll be keeping this setup...

You will lose a little power by switching back to a B16 head from the GSR head.
