Accord H22 turbo?
Im sapping my F22B2 engine for a H22 out hatevr yer Prelude i can find but it ill be a type SH motor. Anyhow, i need to know hat kin of turbo kit is legal an if any of you guys have an HKS one. Also hat kin of sleeves houl i buy?
Why an sh (1997-2001 only) if you are swapping. Just get a base engine and don't expect it to be legal. There is no HKS kit unless it's going to be custom. Sleeving is up to you...Darton, Golden Eagle, and AEBS. I hope if you are thinking of sleeving you are doing rods, pistons, upgraded injectors, new clutch and standalone as well.
Becaus eht Sh ,otor can take alittle more boost stock then the base plus i wanted the H22 Vtec motor. I dont have to immediatly change the internals and the kits come with injectors but i will need to sleeve the pistons just to make sure itll last me til i can get the rest of the internals.
I don't believe there is one turbo kit out there that is legal. For some reason i think even the greddy kit got recalled for something. As far as sleeving the block and then doing internals. Why spend the money twice to do the work. Save the money and build it at one time. If you doing the work yourself then go ahead and sleeve it, but if your gonna bore it out at all, your gonna have to at least get new pistons. Golden Eagle does a great job, but you might as well get the rods and pistons at the same time. Good luck, the h22 turbo accords are alot of fun.
the sh cant take more boost than stock...do your research.... they are the same block... the only difference is the tranny and the ecu. You do not want the tranny or ecu off an sh

i think your lost. the SH isn't any better at all. infact, its a draw back to the '93-96 motors. The open deck, ala B series style is harder to work with...I would sleeve it, put in some forged pistons, then go from there.
my setup isn't yet determined, because what i have now isn't really what i want to have

my swap is done as of tonight, after work i ll go and work on the firing order to get it running. it wont crank, but ill have that fixed tonight
i ll be running turbo on it in bout another 3 weeks. i have somene here with a kit and i just need to pick up a new manifold.
set up
96 accord
96 h22
jdm h22 tranny
skunk2 cam gears
aem fuel rail
aem fpr
ill throw on the drag kit and run on that setup.
in the garage i have ready for my build. i want to find another short block to use so i dont have down time
i have wiseco 8-5-1 pistons and rings
crower rods and apr bolts
jdm cams , springs retainers
so i should be full built and done after xmas but in about three weeks i ll atleast be boosting mild

sweet! I'm out lookning for another block also. My car has been swapped (by me..) for about a year now. Just know figured out i want to go turbo.
I have a drop shop manifold, fmic from junkyardturbo.com, IHI BB turbo (that i think is too small, inwhich i need to get rid of asap for a 60-1), i'll be getting an oil return/feed kit from viren soon, Also have a set of 9.8:1 JE's sitting here.

yup...like i said...the SH is the same block only a different tranny and ecu.. IT IS NOT BETTER THAN THE BASE PRELUDE... DO YOUR RESEARCH.. theres no 93-96 SH. All 93-96 blocks are closed deck... the open decks came out in 97.
yeah guy, you might wanna do a little more research. first of all the sh block will give you so much headache to swap into an accord trust me. i have two motors. 95 jdm h22 and a 97 sh. i have the sh on boost because i bought it already sleeved with pistons rods etc.
the main problem you will have with the sh block into the accord is the half shaft will not work. on the back of the sh block the bolt pattern does not match the accord/prelude half shaft. this is because the sh block comes with some atts unit for the transmission blah, blah. so the only way u will get it to work is like how i did is to make a custom half shaft.
good luck

been there done that with my old h22a accord. used to run a 99 h22a4 with a 95 h22a1 tranny and full custom kit done by rpmnyc in new york.
ran this set-up early last year to the summer.
couldn't afford a stand alone at the time but the car did pull. never got all the bugs out with the stock ecu but ran a ridiculous trap of 102-104mph. forget which while my o2 light was on.
make sure to upgrade your radiator. used to run a fluidyne. works wonders.

alright so ill run the 93 to 96 H22 and not the SH but were can i find everything im gonna need? And the reason why i want to build it in two stages is becasues my car is slow right now, im mean real slow.
whats involved in swapping an H22 into a 94-97 accord? I've got a 98 prelude part race/ mostly show, but I need to get me a daily driver other than the truck, so I'm considering a 94-97 accord. I am running a base tranny in my SH, so i too know about the halfshaft modification. Will an F22 tranny bolt up to an H22 just fine? Did the 92-96 H22a1 have the same halfshaft bolt pattern as the newer 97+ H22a4? What about the jdm h22. Are those all closed deck or are some H22a4? Will accord axles work, will the accord halfshaft work. What wiring is involved, vtec additions (was the F22 VTEC already?), and what about smog equipment (just curious).
