What all should I replace on a clutch change?
I'm doing the clutch/pressure plate on a 200K mile crx, and was wondering about what else I should do...
Throwout bearing, rear engine mount (I think you pull the motor..right), etc...
I thought about pulling the flywheel and doing the main oil seal...but not sure if I should go that deep into it.
any thoughts?

i would change the main oil seal i jus did a replacement clutch job on my ef with a zc n i replaced the main oil seal n got a new fly wheel with a six puck clutch n i replaced my hole tranny better to b safe than sorry wen it leaks on the clutch n fly wheel
The clutch kit should have a new throwout bearing and pilot bearing included. Also change rear main seal, resurface flywheel, service transmission, replace axle seals if they're leaking, and change any bad mounts. No, you don't have to pull the motor.
okay, so it sounds like I should do the rear main seal...and if I have to remove the flywheel, might as well get it resurfaced too...
I googled clutch replacement, and thought what I found was that they pulled the engine...I'll have to go look again and see what I can find...
do you guys just drop the tranny? Cause that is how I would have expected is the best way?
thx

Yea, I've never heard of anybody yanking the motor to do a clutch job. Resurfacing the flywheel is a must, especially after 200K. I'm sure you will find it has hot spots and cracks. The resurface will give the new clutch a fresh, flat area to contact, much like having brake rotors turned when installing new pads. And since your trans is a cable unit, Honda MTF isn't a must. You can use 10W30 motor oil.

It really depends on your budget, and the quality of parts your getting. You do not want to use your old flywheel with a new centerforce clutch. I usually try to replace everything when I am in. But I have replaced as little just the clutch disk itself.
My list is the following:
Centerforce clutch disk and pressure plate
Chromoly flywheel
OEM Throw out barring
OEM Pilot barring
Main seal
New fork, or clean the fork (make sure there isn't any flat spots)

Exedy ftw Flywheel suraface a must and rear main seal while your at it always use Honda MTF. If your mounts are busted good time to change them as well.
thx a lot for all the advice guys
Looks like I'm doing the flywheel and main seal, along with pilot and throwout...will also do the rear engine mount.
I think I may pull the mount, fill it with windo-weld, and re install....had good luck with that in the past
lots of good info here, really appreciate it

so it has been a while, but i got busy with other stuff and it isnt my dd...
so got the tranny back on.
I was pretty damn careful to make sure the throwout bearing was installed and worked correctly and greased...that the clutch plate was installed facing in the correct direction (the exedy has a stamp on it saying which side faces the tranny)...torqueing the pressure plate on correctly in criss cross pattern, etc, etc, etc....
anyways, I hooked up the engine/tranny mounts and then the clutch cable and got into the car to check the clutch feel
it doesnt feel right
normal clutch feel is kind of an increase in pressure in the pedal, smooth, but with some resistance.
this feels smooth, but no increase in pressure like you would expect from a throwout bearing hitting a pressure plate....just feels kinda dead?
So I checked the clutch cable and noticed it had kinda pulled out a little from the spot where you turn the adjustment ****, so i fiddled with the adjustment a little, but it still didnt feel right
god I hope I dont have to pull the tranny back out, crap....
I'll keep messing with the cable and keep asking questions on here
thx
