Default obd2a d16y7 tuning help

ok i have a 96 hatch with a d16y7. i know its obd2a and it would be easyest to go obd1 chipped but it has the iacv 3 wire on the TB and obd1 ecu's can not control them. what would be my tuning options? the car is a DD so i need something reliable and i am in AK and it didnt get above -2F outside today.

on a side note when i time my car i have the distributor advanced all the way i am still down 5 degrees. the motor is stock but a catback, short ram intake and a y8 auto intake manifold. have checked the belt and it is correct on timing.

Is your vehicle 5 speed or automatic?
Are you throwing any codes?

stick in the service jumper or a paperclip and set the timing with a timing light.

then go off the red mark with a non-adjustable timing light, or an adjustable one set to 0.
provided your cam timing is correct and your crank pulley is the right one for your engine, you ignition timing will be set correctly.

it is not that hard to repin from 3 wire to 2 wire IACV. if you are going to spend the money on getting an ECU for efficiency it is probably worth the extra money to get a intake manifold from a Y8 at the same time.

here is an article list on repinning: http://technet.ff-squad.com/

hope this is what you were looking for.
