Check engine light
Three Codes:
P0450
P0453
P0113
96 civic hatchback d16z6
I'm using a obd2a harness non-vtec at the moment from a y7
the ecu is a p75 (i have a chipped p28 in the mail)
ecu code, 37820-p75-a04 980-310678
I have emission coming up so I need to figure this stuff out.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks

do you have a plug in emissions test? if so your p28 won't work.
p0450/0453 is because you are using the wrong ecu. it is looking for a fuel tank pressure sensor, which you do not have.
p0113 is IAT, check to make sure your sensor element isn't melted and is wired in correctly.

I honestly don't know how the emission test works I moved to GA from a state that didn't have them, I have obd2a-obd1 converter, would that make it so the plug would work?
IAT, air intake sensor? That one that connect to the stock air box housing? My car had an aftermarket cold air kits on it, I have a connector that is plugged into anything by the TB would that be the IAT, if so how or where would i plug it in at?
Sorry for all the long response.
Thanks, Glenn

You can use a P2P. You'll have to bypass the CKF (search on here). You'll also need to use the y7 exhaust manifold if you haven't. You'll want to plug the IAT into your intake arm somewhere. Also you'll need to find a place on the block for the knock sensor. If your state doesn't plug in the scanner for OBD2 you'll definitely want to go OBD1.
if you know someone who has the little computer to run engine codes for you just have them clear the codes that are showing up or right before you go to emissions thats what i did and everything went fine

P0141 bank 1 sensor 2? replace 02 sensor?
So i jacked my car up and look at my cat where the o2 sensor is.. Since I'm running the wrong ecu I was wondering if it could be trying to find something that isn't there.
There is no plug or anything in that direction for an 02 sensor to even plug into.
Could this just be a problem involving the ecu?

You definitely have an exhaust leak with the O2 sensor not even in the bung where the first sensor goes. u should have another one after the cat as well which is alil farther back from the picture you took. O2 sensor plugs should be located where the engine harness comes through the firewall on the passangers side. there should be (2) 4 wire plugs. in most states u will not pass emissions without using a obd2 ecu. running a jumper harness the obd2 scanner tool will no longer work. putting a y8 oil pump or y7 oil pump with the crank sensor on your z6 with the y7 oil pan it will work without doing the bypass trick. i also put a obd2 distributor from an ex on my z6 head and only th top bolt lines up and may need reamed out alil to adjust. this all works when putting a z6 in a 96-00 civic running a obd2 ecu.
