Default affordable/reliable chip saw

have been looking for a good chop saw for multiple cutting uses...mainly for cutting stainless exhaust piping and aluminum IC piping, along with anything else that may come up...I found this one on Amazon for what appears to be a good price. i hear many good things about Evolution power tools but want everybody elses thoughts first

I wouldn't think that an expensive saw is better than a cheaper one.

You should look after engine power (kW or HP) and rpm range.

I think that the one in the link is the one you need.

Cheers,
B

HP and amps are hardly ever right on power tools, compressors and so on. If they are made by the same company maybe, but otherwise it's just an advertising gimmick because the motors can never reach the peak power on certain voltages or something.

As far as cheap saws go I like my combination bow saw, hard to beat an $8 saw

I plan on getting the rage 2 myself. If your doing as much work at 9bells does you probably would wanna get the raptor. But I'm a hobby guy and do work on the side and I think the rage 2 would be perfectly fine for the hobby guy such as myself.

the chop saw showed up by surprise Sat. afternoon when i wasn't expecting it till Tuesday the 7th...Only used it cutting a short piece of .065 stainless straight pipe to see how well it worked and thus far i have no complaints. it cut extremely straight and was super smooth operation. didn't throw a single spark and there is NO dust, just little metal chips all over the place. material was still nice and cold after the cut as well. super stoked about this, and recommend this to anybody looking for a good/reliable/inexpensive chop saw
