Default b16b piston scratch. pic

he so i got offered these b16b piston's for $150

but there's a few scratch mark's on the top of number 4

are these usuable still? or to much risk?

Y does cylinder 4 do that? I have 4 over sized b16 pistons that I used for LSV and when I tore it down #4 had the same indents but worse so I have 3 good ones and 1 prob no good one

did you have any valve damage? or damage to bottem of head?

150? You can get brand new npr ctr pistons with rings for that. But they should be alright if none of thelose marks are to deep

Not in new zealand. part's are alot dearer here from lack of compitition.

he is asking far to much thoe, id pay $70 - $100 for them

the damage appears to be minor enough where you could still use it, ultimately it depends on what your building and whether or not its worth the risk, because of the damage on that particular piston that particular cylinder may have lower compression, and different flame propagation characteristics compared to the rest though.

150 is way too much for even clean b16 pistons, I got mine with new rings, shotpeened rods, and ARP bolts for damn near half that.

But if the damage is only on the top of the piston it will not do any harm.

IMO, it's not worth the risk. considering what you're saving and the fact that it could lead to failure, i wouldn't give it a second thought

agreed!

i dont think ill get them 1)to much risk 2)he want's way to much, they should be givn away lol

just made me intrested in how that would happen?

Valves tapping the piston or something got in there while the engine was running and tore up the piston
