Default 18g turbo power in vtec

i dont' kno about the greddy turbo on a gsr but i hear that its good for low-midrange power but loses steam up top. some even say that it feels like a stock gsr after 6k rpm. i am also hearing that vtec works so well with turbo vs honda's w/out vtec. if vtec responds so well with turbo how come the greddy turbo so called "runs out of power in vtec"

yes i kno its a dumb question but in simpler words..im just asking if there is still more pull in vtec of a greddy turbod gsr compared to a stock gsr.

I've never had experince with the greddy products, but maybe the turbo runs out of it's efficiency range

i dont want to spread misinformation, but it is my opinion that turbo has to make more power if its properly set up. i'll have some hard evidence to back this up in a few months tops.

No I would not say it would feel like a stock gsr on top...I mean thats impossible cause that means the dyno chart would be dropping off starting from 6 rpm and that isnt true. It continues making power throughout the rpm band, but does not peak as high as larger turbos. The greddy makes more linear power than peak power.

it'll make 250whp with the larger intercooler. i don't think a stock one has that much top end.

I think what redteg1 is saying is that... "why does the greddy turbo GSR @ 7 psi feels like stock pull on the high end?"

I'm sure you already know that the 18g will get full boost @ 4-4.5k thus giving you a quick good pull in a split second. Keep in mind that the B18C motors have a flat tq. curve all thru redline. Well, this goes the same on a B18C with an 18g, full boost hits, flat tq. curve after all thru redline. You'll notice it more on highway pulls from 3rd gear all the way to 5th but that doesn't mean it's slow, and it sure is way faster than a stock GSR.

Well I have a GSR with the Greddy kit, BOV and the 24v IC and I will tell you that there is power above 6k rpm. In first gear I break loose once I hit 6k and I even have a LSD.

It pulls good top end... If your planning to make power 9000+, then I don't know.
It's not really the turbo that determines how much power you make at certain rpms, you still have cams, intake manifold, etc...

My peak power comes at 6900 RPM, but there isn't much after that.

Has anyone with a Greddy kit made much power above 7K? Dyno charts, please.
