Default Need help with my rebuilt,

Im rebuilding my d16y7 for turbo, install vitara pistons, eagle rods acl bearings, acl main bearings. block was hone, install pistons with rods into the block then crankshaft, torqued the rods 43 ft/lbs, check clearance checked good, then rotate crank looked good, install main caps torque to 18 ft/lbs then 38 ft/lbs then tried to rotate crank and wont move really hard to move, do i need to modify crank for these bearings, i bought std acl bearings they are stock spec? if i torque the main caps to 28 ft/lbs the crank rotates any thing over 28lbs wont move any help will be great thanks.

whoa.... wait how are you picking your bearings, did you actually measure or plasti-gauge(super getto paper method) the crank???

or did you just buy std size bearings and install, torque down?

If you did, and you built the rest of the engine i honestly suggest you bring it to a shop... not trying to offend you but you gotta know what your doing..

also how are you using your torque wench?

I know it sounds like a silly question but most people actually don't know how to use a torque wrench.

the bearings were free and i looked them up and looked like they were stock size. yes i use the paper method never done me wrong. i built 2 motors before and never had any issues, this is the first time i use acl bearings and it looks like the issue are the ones in the main caps.
