Since it's your buddy then test fit them to see if they are long enough. I reused my ls studs on my ls/v and made spacers for the two in the center that were longer. I'm not telling you to use them I'm just saying test fit them. I believe b16 is the same length as the ls studs with the exception of the longer 2. Gsr studs is what everyone uses for ls/v though.

Sure, buy a tape measure, or ask your Buddy to help out.

What head are you using? I'm pretty sure all VTEC headstuds are the same.

Thanks everyone. So I take it GSR are the only one that will work without any modifications?

That answer is YES, because you're going by the Deck of the block not just the head. USE GS-R Head studs..

These links are selling GSR and TYPE-R as the same, and shouldn't b16's and type-r's be the same?

http://www.ipgparts.net/store/ARP-He...5-Engines.html

http://www.jhpusa.com/store/pc/viewP...idcategory=382

But then other sources say

GSR/TYPER headstud length, kit 208-4303 - 7.250”, 184.15mm
B16 headstud length, kit 208-4601 - 7.100", 180.34mm

The difference in length is due to the deck height of the block. It makes absolutely zero difference which B VTEC head you are using.

The JHPUSA link is saying the same thing the rest of us are. B16 is DIFFERENT due to the DECK HEIGHT than GS-R or TYPE R (which are the same). You don't go by the head, you go by the BLOCK when configuring.
