Default GSR headers issue

many people have GSR's so many people must have the same issue with finding a header that is a direct bolt on without modification to exhaust.

I want a direct bolt on 4-1 and it seems like DC sports are the only one's i have heard of that don't require modification!.............I'm NOT looking to spend $700 on a header, just looking for any other direct bolt on's for a GSR......4-1 is my preference and about $400 is what im looking to spend.

info on HP gains on DC headers/ITR/ etc would be helpful.
thx.

There are many name brands out there. There is already hundreds of posts like these but if I were you just buy them cheap ebay ones until you are serious about making power and willing to spend more then 400.00 Ive had Dc crack on me. Best header for 400.00 is prolly the Hytech Replicas, RMF replicas and so on ( You've seen all the posts im sure)... made in the same place as them ebay ones.

yeah might just have to alter the exhaust.....damn DC cracked, heard a lot of mixed reviews about DC. But im just doing this for street driving, id rather rebuild my engine before trying to go all out and make it track worthy. ill prolly go with hytech replicas or just ITR.

ok.

all you have to do is think for yourself. if you are finding nothing that fits after searching extensively, then you have found your answer, and didn't have to make some dumbass 5th post... OR you should have used the SEARCH button at the upper right corner of this site, or read the FAQ sections...

yes, headers do not fit without "exhaust modification" so come off of some cash and go to a shop...

and yes, DC has been junk for the past 10+ years. you already knew that from your vast searching though...

oh, and while i don't have a GSR, i have a B18C in my EG hatch, and guess what? it needed exhaust modification to fit my RMF narrow header...

go somewhere else that spoonfeeds you information if you don't like it. i'll still be right here...

Really, you should just save your money and stay with stock. The DC header uses the same tube sizes for the B18vtec engines as they do for the D16. Plus since it bolts up to the stock cat it only has a 2" OD outlet. To get any decent gains from the B18C1 engine you should go with a larger larger which will require a 2-1/2" cat and exhaust. But that seems like more money than you want to spend so just leave well enough alone.

name me 3 AFTERmarket not oem headers that require no exhaust modification AND actually have a power increase.
be willing to be you'll find none.
spend a little extra and MOD YOUR EXHAUST. 2.5-3 in is goin to have to happen eventually so why you don't want to do it now is beyond me. less you just wanna hardpark.

lastly if you know for a fact that you don't need to mod your exhaust with some headers why are you asking us? you already factually know so go find them. never heard of anyone with a GSR having this problem...but they might have just had the extra 20 to mod their exhaust.
