Default turbo stock h22????

OK hears the deal. i have a civic hatch with a stock h224, i also have a full greddy turbo kit from my old single cam laying around. now would it be safe for me to run 7lb of boost not opening up the motor to put new head gasket and add a block guard? not really being cheap but a always believed that honda's always seem to run best un opened. like i said i have a full greddy kit truly only need the manifold...

I would not put a Greddy kit sized for a D or B series on an H-motor. You'll probably have it spooled up at idle. H-series is obviously bigger. You'll need bigger everything to go on this engine. Don't think for one second you can move kits around like you can on a D and B series and only swap out a manifold.

Un-opened is poor slang for stock. Your belief is totally without merit.

Generally speaking h22's are plenty strong. There's been plenty of people who've made 400+whp on stock blocks with no real issues. Moving this to the FI forum.

As I understand it, it's all about the sleeves.

No one's talking about a CRX.
Use the T28. It'll spool quick. That's about all I can tell you.

t28 is a small turbo for over a 2.0L motor. id recommend alil bigger turbo. this turbo is only good for 300-350hp.

Actually, if its from a D-series kit, you have the TD04H-15G using a hybrid Garrett T25 flanged and internally gated system, good to only about 35lbs/min. That won' make more than about 220whp or so on the H-series engine, at best. The wastegate that came with the kit is about 6-7psi at most and will require a boost controller or modification to work properly. Otherwise, you'll be blowing a lot of useless hot air soon.

Honestly, its best to look to a completely different exhaust manifold, turbo, downpipe and wastegate to start off with here. Even on the stock engine.

It never was. But from what I see, the OP is looking at the turbine housing of the D-series kit that he had. As I stated, the GReddy kit for the D-series contained a HYBRID Garrett/Mitsubishi turbocharger (Mitsu compressor wheel, compressor housing, backplate), while the turbine was from a Garrett (Garrett turbine housing, T25 flanging system and turbine wheel.)

Yeah. I'm running the turbo and manifold from that kit.

How.much power are h22s safe for with studs and a gasket... Assuming you have a decent size turbo and a good manofold?

600 + has been made stock block more than once...

BUT with a safe tune on a healthy motor (Studs and a gasket ) Ive seen more than a few LAST at around 400+ Wheel (Done so personaly) The good manifold (an efficient one) and IMO a T4 hotside will help keep reversion and egt issues from popping up...
Only issues Ive seen with doing so were log manifolds on turbos too small running **** tons of boost to get there.

Hs really dont like restrictive hotsides at all. If a t3 housing Id want nothing smaller than a .82. In a T4 Nothing smaller than a .68.

400 is totally doable on a well tuned healthy motor ... WIth some longetivity if you take care of the engine :O)

Waking this thread up. I'm trying to get a nice turbo that spools very quickly. I don't need 350hp. I really don't even need 300. I just want a quick spool at low rpms.

I've been readying a lot of threads. What's the smallest t3/t4 that would help me
axhieve this?
