LS Turbo Idea/noobie
So I have an eg with a b18b swap. I'm happy with the swap, it gets me plenty of power for my commute. The engine has approx 120k miles. Never tested it for compression but it pulls strong.
So the other day I had a thought.
Im thinking about putting a small turbo on it. Something that will spool quickly and can get me boost at lower rpms. I was thinking of going with 6-8 psi on the bone stock motor. Not looking at making more than 200 hp, but would like at least 180. I'm thinking this can get me power in the upper lower to mid-range rpms. Im not too interested in high-end power as i dont race and my car will never see the track. Its just my dd and im looking to make my commute more interesting. So having low boost and maintaining low rpms should keep my engine relatively safe right?
As for the turbo, I was considering going with a cheap ebay kit then running that until the turbo went out. Hopefully by then Ive saved up enough money to buy a better turbo.
That's my idea. Then again im just a teen and probably have no clue what im talking about. That being said any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Also, if all of my assertions are wrong, please let me know. Again, im just a kid experimenting with an old honda

Dont do it youll get addicted to boost and your life will be ruined...
Haha no but seriously if you plan to spend around a grand (idk how much an ebay kit goes for ) on an ebay kit just buy name brand stuff used.
Look at it like this invest in the name brand. It can be resold later the ebay stuff will fall apart in your hands making no money back later. If you search the classifieds you will find what you need I see it all day. And research more understand what each part of a turbo kit does and from there buy what you need. All the questions you can think of has been asked search in more ways than one
