Throttle body compatability issues/woes
The run down:
I have a B18A1 going in a crx. I wanted to eliminate the firewall mounted MAP sensor, so I bought a B18B throttle body. Well, on the B18A, the fast idle valve is on the manifold under the throttle body. However, on the B18B, the fast idle valve is mounted to the underside of the throttle body. So, common sense tells us that the B18B TB can't be mounted to the B18A intake manifold because 2 fast idle valves cannot occupy the same space.
Solution: Obviously, buy a B18B intake manifold, so I did.
I also got a new TB gasket.
Now the issue. It seems to me based on the gasket (the gasket I got was for a manual and did not at all match the TB), that the TB is from an automatic.
Am I correct in assuming I'm going to need to ditch that TB and get a TB from a manual?

The gasket isn't the problem, as the gasket matches the intake manifold. The TB ports don't match the intake manifold though, thus why the gasket doesn't match the TB.
94-95 b18b (all) had a fast idle valve. 96-01 b18b manual didn't not have one. automatics did. obd2 ls manual and 99-00 civic si have the same throttle body fyi.
