Default 3rd crankshaft pulley STUCK?

Hey there Accord gurus,

Anyone have any tips on getting the last pulley (right before the front crankshaft seal) loose?? I have PB Blasted the heck outta mine but it won't budge. I've also heavily duct taped the jaws of some channel locks and tried pulling it off but it still won't budge. On top of that, I can't get the small key out of the slot on the shaft either. Hmm, I'm way frustrated and stumped!!

Replacing the camshaft seal is my last task that is holding up completion of my timing belt & water pump job.

Thanks,

Mike

Heat it up a bit with a propane/butane torch and then use a rubber/plastic hammer to hit around the side of the gear. Hit it at 12 - 3 - 6 & 9 that should loosen it up. Then you want to take a pry bar/screwdriver and lightly push/pry the gear from behind in those same 4 locations. If you don't have a soft face hammer you can put a piece of wood/thick cardboard between the hammer and the gear. You do not want to chip the gear teeth.

If this doesn't work you will probably need to rent/buy a gear/pulley puller.

You can usually pick one up at any autoparts store for between $10-$80. The cheaper two arm puller should be more than enough for this job. However, if you think you are going to be doing more work later down the road. I would suggest paying the extra for a three arm adjustable puller like the one pictured above. I bought mine for $60 and it has come in handy on a few occasions.
