Removing crankshaft timing gear on 92' Accord (F22A)
What is the best proceedure to remove the timing gear from the crank, on this engine? It won't just slide off. Thanks

I feel your pain....been there.
Sometimes you can put a big deepwell socket over the crank onto the pulley and smack it inwards and then the pulley will break loose, then use small screwdrivers behind it to start walking it off .001" at a time. LOL
Another thing I've done is to use vise grips and a small hammer to get the key out, then wrap the old T-belt around the pulley[protect the pulley teeth] and start twisting with channel locks.
Once the pulley breaks its grip you have it made in the shade.

Thanks Hondadude, ... I'll try the suggestions and see what happens. My last resort will be ..get out the Mig welder and tack "something" to the front of the gear, ... that I can attach a small slide hammer to.

You can drill and tap those holes into the gear yourself also. The gear would be reusable, if you really wanted too. If you want to change the crank oil seal (remove it first), you can heat the gear up with a flame wrench.
Nissan 300Z, VG30 engine, just grind it off and be done with it, everytime.

I lucked out. One smack with a socket and hammer, and the gear slide off. I guess that helps balance out all the other things ..... that are not a "piece of cake".
