Icon6 HELP!

ok, so im having a problem and cant seem to figure it out. when i try to start my crx, i turn the key, it starts then i let go of the key and it cuts off, but if you turn the key and keep holding it over for like 20 to 30 sec it will stay started, what could cause this? im kinda thinking solenoid, but not sure

Sounds like the ignition switch......does it turn back off if you jiggle the key while it's on?

There are way too many variables to be able to determine the problem from the vague description. Why would you think it's a solenoid? If the car is turning over then obviously the starter works. There could be a lot of things going on so check your fuel, spark, and compression and go from there.

You could also, check the ignition switch first as stated by others.

Sounds like its in the ignition to me...from the way I read the OP. If your issue is "The car only stays running when I hold the key in the start position" (which is how I read it), then I would start troubleshooting at the ignition switch.

its the switch it has a mechanical part and a electrical part, the electrical part sounds likes it bad for the on position. ive had this happen on a few old honda luckily my accords was part of a recall so it was free, start there all of my cars with the problem did exactly the same thing

so what do i do to it? test it and if it is bad then what?
