40% of front bumper was ripped off. Illustration inside.
Car: 2003 Honda Accord
Took a turn into my driveway. On left side there's a 1.5 foot high "wall" of asphalt. Thought I could make the turn. Was proven wrong.
It's still hanging on except for the area I colored. Although I did put back into place but it probably won't hang on if I'm driving.
sigh This is what happens when you drive angry. Guess I deserved to be humbled.
Am I looking at a very high cost? Should I replace completely or are there alternatives?

replace completely... I would assume that part can be had for about 150-200 but paint is additional. you might find be able to find a used unit if it's not that important to you... you can find the same color also.
FYI, you're not alone in ripping off your bumper... I've done it before on my NEW accord.

Wanted to add that right at the bottom there was a tube. It wasn't broken just it came apart. Any idea what it's for?
The way it looks isn't important to me.
Where should I search for a used unit? Junkyard?

Yes. Also try local craigslist, eBay, or here: http://www.car-part.com/
Thanks guys. I'm going to keep looking for cheap covers. Hopefully nothing else is damaged since I didn't get a good look.
Gonna glue it until I find the part.

That's a bummer. I hooked the front bumper of my wife's MDX on a wall the same way. I got the fascia repainted, but the clips that hold the fascia to the fenders aren't holding the fascia tight anymore. You might want to pick up new clips for the left fender.

I turned on the car, and I noticed this weird smell. It sort of smelled like a strong permanent marker.
Does anyone think that it's dangerous to drive?
I'll take a picture of the exact damage. Might be able to show everyone the true extent of damage.
You might be able to cut this piece off or zip tie it in place for the time being.
I'd suggest you look for a used/salvage piece. Brand new OE might be a little pricey, but it doesn't hurt to check the price too. Remember to check to see if it would be pain matched for said price too.
car-part.com will help you search salvage yards in your area for the part.
This is not a safety item btw. It's merely a bumper cover. The actual bumper is a metal bar hidden by the cover. There is likely also a styrofoam piece between the two.

These guys have bumper filler for super cheap: http://www.certifit.com/Default.aspx?
OEM bumper cover will come unpainted, much cheaper to find one at http://www.car-part.com/ even if you have to ship it.

certifit is commonly known also as sortafit, 80% of their stuff has horrible fitment issues
i'd stick with OEM, either a used unit from the junkyard since you're getting it repainted also

Thanks. Right now it's holding quite well with scotch tape. It isn't completely ripped off at the places where I colored. Upon further inspection there are pieces that are still together with the bumper. That means scotch tape just keeps it from flailing around.
Problem is with the tube that apparently sends oxygen to the engine? The box and tube are unstable. Can anyone fill me in on this? Horrible at parts names.

if ur going to drive it i would remove the bumper completely and take off the inner fender liners because u will chew them up. if any wires are hanging just zip tie them up. as long are ur head lights are good and working u can do this in the meantime until u find a bumper. i dont know how strict they are where u live but u can get away with it here.
