Icon3 I need help

i recently bought a crx, the car was sold to me with the timing advanced back firing and sputtering. the car idled at 2000 rpms, it drove perfectly, a little low on the mpg and the car doesnt do well when the tank is pretty low... i retarded the timing back to stock and she idles low but she isnt strong.. once i give it gas or its been on for a little the cars check engine light will come on and the rpms will go up then go right back down... im thinking fuel pump i just need more opinions before i take any action and need recommendations on whether i should just buy an autozone fuel pump....

in the video i turn the car on and let it idle... i give it gas and then the check engine comes on.. then when i finish giving it gas it dies out... then i turn it back on to give it gas and have it die out again.. someone please help your suggestions and input will greatly be appreciated

Check the timing marks on it and make sure it hasn't jumped

Yeah. Check the mark on the cam sprocket and the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and make sure it is in time.

ok i will... thanks... are there any other possibilities and suggestions? i was pretty sure it had something to do with fuel, because the car doesnt do well at all with low gas and does fine when i open the throttle a bit

Could be a combination of problems. Get rid of the CEL first. Idle is low, lots of possible causes. Start with timing.
